City Hall Plaza Park
3411 Barker Ave
Melissa, TX
City Hall Plaza Park is a vibrant gathering space for residents and visitors, hosting various community events and programs. The park features a spacious open pavilion for private gatherings, walking paths, and a central water feature. The seasonal water feature operates from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, offering playful sprays for children during the day and a colorful light show at night.
Additionally, the park now includes two pollinator-friendly, water-wise Texas native gardens planted by volunteers from the City's Economic Development 4B Board Beautification Committee in April 2024. These gardens serve as a living resource, showcasing native plants that thrive in Melissa's climate and can be incorporated into residents' landscapes. Look out for future updates, including a plant directory with photos and descriptions and the Rooted In plan map.
Smaller garden beds near City Hall's back doors will be planted in Spring 2025, and we invite any interested community members to join our efforts. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a beginner, this is a great opportunity to learn about native perennials and connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts. To get involved or learn more, contact parks@cityofmelissa.com. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome!
