The City of Melissa Fire Department is excited to announce its free Quarterly Heartsaver CPR/AED courses!
These courses are video-based, instructor-led courses that teach adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. These courses teach skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.
No previous experience required, and all training equipment will be provided by Melissa Fire Department.
Note: Taking this course will not result in official CPR or first-aid certification. What it will do is prepare you to be able to provide potentially lifesaving care until first responders arrive.
Courses are intended for Melissa citizens 12 years of age and older. Each class is limited to 25 students.
