The City of Melissa now proudly provides in-house emergency medical services through the Melissa Fire Department’s EMS Division.
Our EMS Division operates with:
One front-line ambulance
One reserve ambulance
Both units are licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) level and are fully equipped to deliver high-quality pre-hospital care.
The Melissa Fire Department is staffed with over 20 certified paramedics, ensuring every emergency medical response—whether by fire engine or ambulance—delivers advanced, timely, and effective care. This integrated response model supports rapid interventions for those living in or traveling through Melissa.
Certification
All Melissa Fire Department members are certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) or Paramedics. Whether responding to a medical emergency, a vehicle accident, or a critical care call, MFD personnel are trained to deliver expert care from the moment they arrive.
