Citizens Fire Academy

The City of Melissa Fire Department is pleased to offer an 8-week Citizens Fire Academy starting on March 20, 2025. The Citizen Fire Academy aims to offer Melissa residents the opportunity to learn more about their local fire department with hand-on learning experiences and encourage them to get involved in community risk reduction efforts.

Program Details

  • Duration: 8 weeks, every Thursday from March 20, 2025 through May 8, 2025
  • Time: 6 PM - 9 PM
  • Location: Public Safety Building, 2402 McKinney Street, Melissa, TX 75454
  • Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years or older and either live or work in the City of Melissa. A background check is required.

  • Participants must live or work in the City of Melissa.
  • Applicants will need to pass a background check.

Registration Deadline: February 20, 2025

Important Note: Completing the registration form does not guarantee acceptance into the academy. All applicants will be screened to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements.
