Alarm Installation & Activation Certificate
The City of Melissa does not require a permit for installation and activation of a private alarm system, however, the State of Texas does require that this certificate is filed with your local municipality. Learn more about residential permits.

Public Transportation
The City of Melissa as a member of the McKinney Urban Transit District (MUTD) has partnered with the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) to provide Collin County Transit. Residents can enjoy the convenience of regular taxi service at a fraction of the cost to get to popular destinations such as:
- Baylor Medical Center
- Grocery Stores
- Libraries
- Medical Center of McKinney
- Senior Centers and More
Collin County Transit Taxi Voucher Program for the elderly (65 and older) and individuals with disabilities as well as those that qualify based on low-income thresholds. Those interested in joining the program will need to complete the qualification process prior to taking their first ride.
