MELISSA’S 3RD ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY BRINGS HOLIDAY MAGIC TO THE HEART OF THE CITY

MELISSA, TX - The City of Melissa invites everyone to celebrate the season at the 3rd Annual Melissa Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The evening will be filled with small-town charm, twinkling lights, and the kind of holiday moments that bring neighbors together.
New this year, guests will enjoy two exciting additions: a petting zoo and a brand-new drone light show that will illuminate the night sky in a dazzling finale.
Visitors can stroll through the Christmas Farmers Market to find local treasures, sip on hot cocoa or cider, enjoy live music, and visit the craft station hosted by the Melissa Public Library. Families can take part in a friendly snowball fight, pose in the holiday selfie area, and of course, share a moment with Santa Claus before the big countdown to the lighting of the City tree.
Mayor Jay Northcut said, “Melissa’s Tree Lighting has become one of those traditions that people look forward to all year. It’s about pausing from the rush, standing together under the lights, and remembering why we love calling this place home.”
The night will conclude with a drone light show, filling the sky with a holiday display designed to celebrate the season and the spirit of community.
Event Schedule
4:00 PM: Farmers Market, bounce houses, and petting zoo open
6:15 PM: Welcome and Storytime with Mayor Northcut
6:30 PM: Tree Lighting
6:45 PM: Melissa High School Choir performance
7:00 PM: Snowball fight
8:00 PM: Drone Light Show
8:30 PM: Event concludes
