SPARKS AND SPANGLES SET FOR JUNE 27TH AT COACH KENNY DEEL STADIUM
MELISSA, TX— This year’s Sparks and Spangles celebration is taking things up a notch and moving to a new home. Join us at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium (3030 Milrany Ln) on Friday, June 27, as the City of Melissa and Melissa ISD team up to create an evening you won’t forget.
Start your night with concessions provided by the Melissa Booster Club and a fun-filled carnival hosted by the PTO—carnival tickets will be available for purchase at the event. Then, at 6:45 PM, settle in for the family-friendly movie, Sonic the Hedgehog, selected by a local elementary classroom. Finally, cap off the night with a spectacular fireworks display beginning around 9:15 PM (at dark).
This year, fireworks will launch lower than in years past, so attending the event in person is the best way to catch the full show. Think dinner, movie, and fireworks, what better way to enjoy an almost free date night or family outing?
“We’re proud to bring the community together in a new way this year,” said Mayor Northcut. “Partnering with our school district helps us create an experience that’s fun, local, and uniquely Melissa.”
Please make sure your pets are secured during the celebration window from 9:00 - 9:40 PM, as the sounds can be startling for animals.
