POLICE RESPOND TO MULTIPLE INCIDENTS IN THE MELISSA AREA
MELISSA, TX- Officers from various law enforcement agencies responded to multiple incidents in the Melissa area involving a shooting, domestic disturbances, unlawful weapon possession, and a pursuit resulting in arrests.
In the first incident, officers were dispatched to Anna for a shooting victim, a juvenile who sustained gunshot wounds to his body. The juvenile received nonlife-threatening wounds. It was later determined that the incident occurred in the City of Dallas.
In a separate incident, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2700 block of Delta Drive, where it was learned that the suspect assaulted his spouse. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury-Family Violence.
Furthermore, officers were dispatched to a crash at SH 121 and County Road 419, discovering a juvenile driver with a handgun in his possession. The driver sustained a broken ankle and was transported to a local hospital, with pending charges for Unlawful Carry of Weapon.
In a pursuit incident, officers responded to the Thornberry and Berry Grove area for a stolen vehicle being tracked. In order to stop the vehicle, spike strips were deployed, leading to the apprehension of two of the suspects. Subsequent investigations revealed their involvement in a burglary that occurred in an unincorporated area of Collin County. The suspects face charges including Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle (UUMV), Evading, Unlawful Carry of Weapon (UCW), and warrants confirmation.
The collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies, including DPS Air One, CCSO, Anna PD, and Grayson County K9, were instrumental in resolving these incidents and ensuring public safety.
