Melissa to Join Statewide Warrant Roundup
Law enforcement agencies and cities throughout the state conduct roundups at different times throughout the year, focusing on violators with outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrants; most of which are traffic related. Those arrested will be taken before court judges for arraignment and disposition of their cases. Full payment or suitable arrangement for full payment will be due at that time. Other options may include a cash bond, a Magistrate Court appearance or attorney representation. Notices have been mailed to persons with warrants active against them along with personal contacts through phone calls. Officials noted that although the concentration is on Class C charges, higher charge warrants may also be served.
The City of Melissa urges you to act immediately, prior to the March 6th date in order to avoid arrest. For more information on how to pay citations and avoid arrest during the roundup, contact the Municipal Court by phone at (972) 838-2034, in person at 901 State Highway 121, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
