Administratively complete pending zoning applications
are posted here 72 hours in advance of the Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting at which the case will be considered. To be notified when a change has been made to this page, please sign up for E-notify (click on the logo in top right corner) and you will be emailed when this page has been updated.    All cases will be removed from this website within 3 days following City Council Consideration.  Election notices will be removed within a month following the certification of the results. All other Public Notices and Press Releases will be retained here for the current Fiscal Year.

Sealed Bids will be accepted at the office of the City Secretary of the City of Melissa, 3411 Barker Avenue, Melissa, Texas 75454 UNTIL January 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Bids shall be identified on the outside of the envelope with the following: Bids for TRAFFIC SIGNAL ĘC SH 5 (MCKINNEY STREET) AT PENNSYLVANIA AVE., City of Melissa, Texas. Bids received after bid closing will be returned unopened. All bids received prior to the closing of the bid period will be publicly opened and read aloud at the City of Melissa City Hall, 3411 Barker Avenue, Melissa, Texas 75454 beginning at 2:05 PM on January 4, 2018. Following bid opening, tabulation will be made for consideration of the City of Melissa in awarding a contract.

To meet the rising cost of water and wastewater treatment, the City of Melissa has adopted new water and wastewater rates as part of the FY 2017-18 budget. The City was notified by TxDOT that the signal warrant study conducted at the intersection of SH 5 and Pennsylvania satisfied the warrants evaluated by TxDOT for signalization.TxDOT has accepted the City's offer and agreed to allow the City to install the signal at the intersection of SH 5 and Pennsylvania. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a Public Meeting for the purpose of soliciting public comments on the proposed roadway improvements to Farm to Market Road (FM) 545 in the cities of Melissa and Blue Ridge in Collin County, Texas. The meeting will be held on, October 26, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Melissa Church, 2101 E. Melissa Road, Melissa, Texas 75454. Maps and displays will be available for viewing during the meeting, and representatives from TxDOT, Collin County, City of Melissa, City of Blue Ridge, and project staff will be available to answer questions about the proposed project. The meeting will be conducted in an open house format with no formal presentation.

The public hearing on Tuesday, 8/8/17 at First Baptist Church Melissa, will begin with an open house format at 6:00 p.m. to allow attendees one-on-one opportunities to speak with TxDOT staff and the project team. There will be a formal presentation/hearing at 7:00 p.m. following the open house. The purpose of the hearing is to present the proposed project and to receive public comments.
