ELECTION RESULTS (May 6, 2017 at 9:00 p.m.)

The results for the Special Election for the remainder of the term for City Council Place 5 have been posted by Collin County and are as follows:

Craig Ackerman - 71.40% (347)
Donna West - 3.29% (16)
Justin Landrith - 8.64% (42)
Heather R. Martin - 16.67% (81)

As a reminder, the results are considered UNOFFICIAL until the results are accepted by City Council. Stay tuned for more info on date and time for election canvassing and swearing in of Councilmember elect Ackerman.

Special Municipal election has been called by the City Council to be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 for the purpose of filling a vacancy in the office of City Council, Place 5.

The Ballot to fill Place 5 (term expiring in May 2018) has been set as follows:

  • Craig Ackerman
  • Donna West
  • Justin Landrith
  • Heather R. Martin
In addition to the Special Election to fill the vacancy on City Council, the election for Melissa ISD Board of Trustees, Collin College Board of Trustees and Proposition No. 1 (Collin College Bond Proposal) is also on the same ballot for Melissa Residents.   

Visit Collin County Elections for the SAMPLE BALLOT for your specific voting precinct.  
  • Voters outside the Melissa City Limits (Melissa ISD & Collin College Elections only): you can find your precinct by searching Collin County Voter Registration information
    • You will be asked to enter your First Name, Last Name and Birthdate



Early Voting will begin on Monday, April 24 and continue through Tuesday, May 2. The specific dates and times are listed in the table below.

 Saturday, April 29   8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
 Monday, May 1  7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 2 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
